About Me

Lyn Lloyd-Smith

Genealogist

Born in Northern Ireland

Living in California

Gatherer by Nature

Wanderer by Experience

I was hooked by genealogy before I knew the word existed. All my life I have gathered names and relationships and drawn them into ever expanding diagrams. This blog is a way of sharing what I have learned from delving into dusty boxes in obscure record repositories and typing search queries on the internet into the wee hours of the morning.

My hope is that this will be a convenient way for family, close and distant, to access my research. I also hope that others will both learn from my mistakes and find ideas on how to solve their own genealogical puzzles.

My degree is in French and Linguistic-Phonetics from the University of Leeds. I received the Diploma in Genealogy of the Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies, Canterbury, Kent, England in 2004.
